IT DIES TODAY HIT THE STUDIO FOR EARLY 2009 RELEASE
Truly in the DIY spirit, IT DIES TODAY is held up in their self built home
studio in Buffalo recording, self-producing, and mixing their upcoming
release for Trustkill Records. The album entitled "Lividity" will street on
January 27, 2009.
“We've actually built a studio in the house that Mike Hatalak (our guitar
player, engineer and main writer) and I live in together. It has given us an
amazing dynamic to work with for this record. We have limitless resources as
well as a phenomenal amount of freedom. It's one of those things as a
musician you grow up always wanting to have available in your living situation. A place to record whenever you have an idea or whenever you feel creatively
superb, We've never been in a more comfortable or creative atmosphere in our
lives! Says singer Jason Wood Born, bred and proud to be among the Buffalo, NY hardcore scene IT DIES YOUNG formed in 2001. The group creates a blend of brutal riffs and punishing breakdowns that are coupled with huge anthemic and driving melodies. This dichotomy within their sound has gained them fans across the metal, hardcore and rock scenes as well as the ability to bring both sexes together in the pit. On their formation, most band members were only 16 years old and although now only in their early 20’s this is a band who has already accomplished more than bands twice their age and they are only getting started.
Already having sold over 150,000 to date, the band's initial release was the
2001 EP Forever Scorned, followed by 2004’s _The Caitiff Choir_
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Caitiff_Choir) which garnered them a slot on
Alternative Press Magazines 2005 “Band’s To Know” list, then came the Sirens release
which debuted at #5 on Billboard heatseekers chart and won the band a slot
on OzzFest as well as a guest spot on VH1’s Headbangers Ball. With these
releases and a tour history that includes Ozzfest 2005 and dates with Atreyu,
Silverstein, Aiden, Bullet For My Valentine, Papa Roach, Shadows Fall, Trivium,
Bleeding Through, Machine Head, Devil Driver, Norma Jean and Unearth to name
a few the men of IDT are ready to make their presence felt once again.
"We're really pumped about this new record! Lividity is a medical
term (as I am a huge fan of CSI) that means when you die all your
blood in your body settles, so where you're lying is a bruise
covering that part of your body. Metaphorically for example someone
who's life is very stagnant or unmotivated. Now I’m sure everyone who
cares has heard the rumors of a heavy record, well it's true! We're
writing a lot more 'Caitiff Choir' like riffs and we're working on a
more raw and ballsy atmosphere for this record. Expect sincerity,
passion, and FUCKING POWER!" says Woods
Look for the true spirit, power and determination of this band to explode
with "Lividity" due out January 2009.
